Honda Unveils Three 1300 Customs for 2010

In its fourth release of 2010 models, American Honda today announced three cruisers comprising a new 1300 Customs lineup. It also released information on a new Shadow roadster and the return of the ST1300. The announcement follows closely behind Tuesday's unveiling of the 2010 CRF450R.

"These five streetbikes add even more excitement to our lineup for 2010," Honda's Bill Savino stated in a news release. "Four of these bikes are new V-twins that dramatically expand our line of cruisers. The Sabre, Stateline, Interstate and Shadow RS V-twins unveil new styling and functional variations for Honda buyers, and we're excited about the new opportunities these machines present. The ST1300 continues to extend its reputation for long-haul performance with a sporting flair and it remains a popular choice among riders who live for the open road. This 2010 model year is shaping up very well, with lots of exciting options for Honda fans."

2010 Honda CBF1000 Unveiled, VFR1200 Pricing Announced

2010 Honda CBF1000 Unveiled, VFR1200 Pricing Announced

Honda has announced that they've completely redesigned the CBF1000, with chassis tweaks topping the list of changes for 2010.

A new aluminum frame replaces the original steel structure, contributing to a 5 kg curb weight reduction to 245 kg and a nimbler machine, says Honda. Handling, they say is also enhanced by upgraded suspension comprised of 41 mm preload-adjustable telescopic fork with damping rates and a rebound adjustable shock.

Engineers have also been at work on the CBF's liquid cooled 998 cc inline four, adding more torque and increasing horsepower from 97 to a claimed 106. Fuel economy is said to have improved by 7 percent.

Bodywork improvements include a larger, more protective fairing, new instrument panel and a four-position adjustable windscreen. As with the previous model, seat height is adjustable from 780 to 805 mm in 15 mm increments.

The exhaust system has also been redesigned, placing the pre-catalyser in the exhaust pipe and the main catalyser in one large-capacity muffler.

Though Europeans have four colour options, in Canada the 2010 CBF1000A comes only in amber yellow at a retail price of $12,999, with combined ABS as standard.

Canadian pricing of the VFR1200 has also been announced. Slated to hit showroom floors in May 2010, the manual shift version is listed at $18,999 and while a  $1500 - $2000 premium has been hinted for the dual-clutch auto model, we've yet to hear the official price, so stay tuned.
